T ake two Rollers – one a brand new special edition Ghost and the other a priceless classic. And drive them around for a couple of days around Lake Garda in Italy and up into the Dolomite mountains. Accompanied by TV presenter Charley Speed – a judge of Britain’s Next Top Model and the man said to be the real inspiration for the classic flick Zoolander!
Driving the new Roller through amazing mountain passes, and being passenger in the classic one at 5am in the Dolomites, was an experience not to forget. They were taking part in the Alpine Trail rally through lots of European countries. And the old Roller won the event exactly 100 years before. Real history right there.
Not only was it my first dealings with Rollers, it was my first video-only contract. So no stills from me – that was someone else’s job. But I shot video. Still managed to squeeze off a scant few frames, though. A bit of footage makes it through to the Showreel video on my portfolio page here.
