Scrub it like Searle!

Tommy Searle is one of Britain’s best professional motocross racers. So when MOTO magazine wanted to do a special feature on how he does his unique scrub-type move to keep his trajectory low over jumps, it was ideal for a special shoot with him on a private track.

First some portraits, shot in glorious medium format quality on my Phase One IQ160 camera. Then a track shoot, using high-speed sync on my Elinchrom Rangers, fired by Pocket Wizard Flex and Minis, to keep the shutter speed high on my Nikon D4S. And of course, there’s the obligatory sequence shot to show how he flies!
