Idris Elba may have used it as his home in TV show Luther, but Master Shipwrights House on the banks of Thames in south London makes a fantastic location for fashion shoots. Shabby chic rooms, props from pianos to sheds and bunting really fuel the creative juices.
Using lighting that varied from natural light to flash, HMIs and tungsten, the results are pretty dramatic.
Cool blue tones work well together
A pummel horse and some throws go perfectly with the model’s chic wear
Light from an HMI shone through a lace fabric gives a lovely mottled effect
Soft lighting from a window aided by a little bit of tungsten for warmth
Great light, styling and location make for unusual shots
The moody sky over the Thames and bright red door and yellow dress really make this shot stand out
